Request for Sample Real Test Cases in Zephyr Scale for Learning
Hi SmartBear Community, I'm new to using Zephyr Scale for test management, and I'm looking to learn more about how to create effective test cases. I’m a learner who learns best by doing real things, so I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could share some sample real test cases or examples that you have used in your projects. Specifically, I'm interested in: - How to structure test cases for different types of testing (e.g., functional, regression, performance). - Best practices for writing clear and concise test cases. - Examples of complex test scenarios, if possible. If possible, I would also be very grateful if someone could share an actual Jira project using Zephyr Scale for test management. Seeing how it's used in a real-world scenario would be incredibly valuable for my learning process. I want to learn more about using Zephyr Scale effectively, and any guidance or resources you could provide would be incredibly helpful! Thank you so much for your time and support! TLDR;how do I update test execution status using Cypress, Cucumber, JSON and Zephyr Scale data centre edition? Some background info. We use Zephyr Scale, Data Center Edition. Our test framework is Cucumber Our automation tool is Cypress We use Cucumber for our feature files We run our automation via Gitlab. Our test cases are organised in the Cycle, and further subdivided onto folders for each country we test Our test cases in Zephyr are also just placeholders (they contain no test steps) that map 1:1 with our automated test scripts We always pass/fail the entire test case in Zephyr based on our regression test results this last step takes forever, and this is what I want to automate. In the absence of clearer documentation, I believe that this -->Annotations With Other CI Tools/Running Locally | Zephyr Scale Server/Data Center Documentation (smartbear.com)<-- solves that issue. My expectation is that once this is implemented, the test execution status is updated automatically in Zephyr Scale, based on the results of the automation and the JSON file that Cucumber outputs. Is this how this functionality works, and does anyone have experience in getting this to work that they are willing to share?658Views0likes1CommentCall to test including a test data set
I have a test with a Test Data table and I wish to call that test from another test. When I do a normal call to test my test-execution shows only empty test steps for the same number as I have rows in my data-set (if I only execute the test I wish to call it shows up correctly). Is it possible to use Call to test for a test that includes Test Data? If not, how do I raise a request for such a feature?9Views0likes0CommentsTest Execution Report and Auditing
I am interesting in finding out the details of test cases where tester failed to attach (at least) one screenshot (or any document) during test execution (either at test case level or test step level). How to create JQL for this? or Any other solution? I am using v9.4.2 for Data Center.31Views0likes3CommentsIs there API to download attachments from test & steps?
I am looking for API here Zephyr Scale for Jira Cloud API (smartbear.com) To download attachments from the test and from the steps. I don't see anything for it. I am missing it? Is there an option to do it using API? Thank you.231Views0likes2CommentsBest way to create and organise tests
What would be the most efficient way of organising tests for this scenario: I want to have my test cycles in subfolders so that they are under the app name and then under the version name, E.g. APP NAME - V9.5.0 However, when a new version is released and I create another folder e.g. v9.5.6, what would be the best way of migrating all of the tests into v9.5.6 but would also allow me to edit them without affecting the tests in the older folder v9.5.0? The only way I can see is if I create a new test cycle, add in all of the tests and then go into each test that I want to edit, create a new version, edit it and save it, is this the best way?Solved30Views0likes1CommentZephyr Scale Cloud
Hi, I’m experiencing trouble today with a few things; API - the test execution onlyLastExecutions=true but is still showing all Executions. Seems that past executions are also showing in test cycles too rather than just the latest. Anyone else experiencing this issue? Thanks214Views0likes4CommentsFilter Test Cases By Execution Results
I attempted to see if this question had been answered before, but I didn't see it. Is it possible from the Test Cases tab (not reports) to filter test cases based on their execution state? I'm aware that I can sort them by last execution, but I would prefer to filter down to just a specific execution state so that I can bulk edit them. The specific use case is this: I'd like to identify all tests that have been created but never executed and archive them. These are likely tests that were imported when we moved to Zephyr and have little value other than cluttering up our test case list. A secondary use case is this: I would occasionally like to narrow down to only test cases that failed the last time they were run. We could potentially build a test suite based on these failures to see if they were indirectly solved at some point in the future.Solved42Views0likes2CommentsExport Problem in Zephyr Scale Reporting for Confluence
Hi All, I have just used the Zephyr Scale Reporting for Confluence plugin to create test metrics in Confluence. However, when I export the confluence page in Word or PDF I cannot see the graphs/tables. Instead, I see only the titles I manually created. (see attachment) Is there a solution or workaround?11Views0likes0CommentsZephyr Feedback
About a month ago, SmartBear introduced a Create/Create & Edit button which is useful but has two flaws: If I'm creating a test case, I want the button to be: Create and Edit but when I'm creating a test cycle, I want it to be Create. Unfortunately, there's a bug that prevents this scenario from happening automatically. I have to manually switch between the two states all the time so this need to be fixed. I always create a test case then a test cycle. It'd be far easier for me if I could do both steps from one modal.4Views0likes0Comments
