TestComplete with PDF files

Question

Hi All,Does Test Complete interact with pdf files?OrCan we validate data on pdf files with TestComplete?If yes then how it can be done, if No then is there any other alternative to do so.Your help will be really appreciated. ThanksRegards,Nachiket

There is a further option ...&nbsp;(I speak from experience .... I've done it!)&nbsp;If you are only interested in lifting text snippets from a PDF document (to validate that an invoice contains a correct amount or something like that), you can use keyboard shortcuts to simply copy all the text from it into the clipboard, and the find, extract, and validate the parts your interested in.&nbsp;Won't work on protected PDF docs.&nbsp;But on a standard PDF doc, where you are only interested in text content, it's pretty easy and no need to install any extra "stuff".

1- You can integrate BeyondCompare for File comparison into TestComplete really easy and then you will be able to compare PDF binary files.

2- The PDF format is OPEN architecture from Adobe and has an established API. You can access the objects inside of a PDF document and store in TestComplete for future Object Checkpoint.

The code depends on your actual needs.
