Can previuous versions of Testcomplete run a newer version of the project file?

Hi,

I am wondering if  TestComplete version 10.3 or 10.4 will work with the project file of version 10.6?

  • Hi nexus,

The structure of project files is changed a bit from version to version. However, as far as I remember, projects created in one major versions can be opened in it. It means that you can open the TC 10.6 project in TC 10.4. However, you cannot open the TC 10.6 project in TC 11 or TC 9.

Anyway, it’s always better to use SCC to store your projects or create backups. BTW, TestComplete 11 provides the new SCC feature.

Thanks! Verified that it does indeed work.
